Empty Vase

Empty Vase

A Poem by Francis Orion

Empty and Alone I sit
Yet to see me
You admire my craft
Sturdy and strong
to support its
Future resident
My humble color
Appeals to the eye
It warms the heart
You see me
as an amphora
But you refuse
To fill me with
What I long for
A bouquet of beauty
So I can feel fulfilled
For bring joy to others
My destiny served
A vessel for the
season's bloom
Yet only I sit
An empty vase
