Dirk Of The JustifierA Poem by Franc RodriguezAn uprising in Caledonia would be led, by a justifier from the seed of Boudicca.
Many lost centuries long ago
Liv'd this warrior of Caledonia, Whose old name remains silent Within a legend of the Justifier. Legions of Hadrian would fight Against those tribes of the Celts, Who were led by the brave seed Of a notorious queen Boudicca. Nero, quell'd the stubborn queen, As the Roman's wrath doom'd her, And the tribes to submit to his rule Beckoning for a new hero to arise. From the bairns of the highlands Rose a valiant warrior of the Celts, As he led an uprising against Rome, Where his men stood at Hag's head. 'Twas said by a hoary witch then, That the breath of Beira was felt, With the wintry storm freezing the Legions of cadent trodden Romans. Vengeance was exact'd afterward, By the majestic dirk of the Justifier, Whose bold spirit blows from Argyll Onto the fresh strait of Corryvreckan. © 2016 Franc Rodriguez |
