Stir Of My Lovesome Mississippi

A tribute to the lovely Mississippi River.

Cumbersome burr of raccoons, 
Nearby the houses that shap'd,
The walls in winsome festoons,
With buntings that were drap'd.

A buxom fourth of July spent,
With the blue skies drench'd,
In the hues of a rainbow blent,
Amongst the critters blench'd.

Steamboasts bustle with the whir,  
Along the edge of a winding river,
With the lively streams then astir,
Across the prickly stems of a brier. 
      
The fearless woods that often pry, 
The lost land of the mighty Saux,
Within the summer days that dry,
Where the old sun begins to balk. 

Behold the boldness of Jolliet,
Who brought his savoir-faire,
With the wayward Marquette,
When paddling down south ere.

Nestled on a broad bluff somber, 
Where the hummingbirds croon,
Beyond the swoon of the lumber,
Upon the lily pads of a bank soon.  

Hail the handsome boys of Moline, 
Who hanker and wheedle at once, 
Southern Belles of New Orleans,
Whilst abiding fain for the nonce.  

Hail the steamboats of Missouri, 
Chugging throughout the water,
A stir of my lovesome Mississippi,
As a warm-heart'd kinsfolk gather.

Very awesome read. I like how your writing flows together, to make me visualize everything that's going on.
