Sea of Empty Dreames

Sea of Empty Dreames

A Poem by Francis J Grasso

Silent tears forever falling;
Silent tears on life's deaf shore.
Treasured memories wrapped in sorrow;
Treasured memories never more.

Love's frail arms outstretched and reaching,
across a sea of empty dreams;
Love's call lost, almost beseeching,
never reaching love's lost schemes.

No refuge from the mourning,
every thought, nightmares of pain.
Every pore sends out a warning,
never more and not again.

Eyes wide open, always searching
over dunes of misery.
Creeping, always weeping
life finally fades into the sea.

Wow, this almost seems like you're trying to explain what it's like to reach for hope that never seems to be apparent... I suppose life can be that way. Always reaching, always searching, but finding nothing but the scarring pain. Very beautiful!
