The mystery of why Lizzie Borden -and others like her- should commit such an horrific act upon those closest to her is an eternal darkness that can only be ironically marvelled at. But what this poem does is keep these motives simply alluded to and present the facts in all their macabre coldness. The bloody imagery of the swinging axe is rather effective, as is the allusion to the inexpressible demon which seemed to possess her. These lines...
"forty whacks killed mum
but old dad took forty-one
loved what she had done"
...are particularly good.
A disturbing theme, and well done.
PS. the graphics which accompany the poem are cruelly symbolic.
well in all fairness she was aquitted...LOL..takes the saying 'getting away with murder' to new heights...well done, a morbid but gruesomely sensual about how you have written it..as if it got her off..which I am sure it did...loved it

The fact that it's based on someone real makes it the creepiest collab to date. I've been seeing previews on TV about her lately too.
Very impressive and bloody collaboration on this with Sean. I recall that she was never charged with the murders which makes her story all that more interesting.
Nice piece...very fluid for a collab, and you would never have known it was a haiku upon just reading it without knowledge. Intriguing and perfect for the Halloween season. Good job!
