The BiG ThriLL

The BiG ThriLL

A Poem by Fran Marie

Hitting all the casinos in town
amusing himself to play.
Willing to lay his money down
and gamble his life away

His winning streak was fun at first
and the dice felt hot in his hand.
then it took a turn for the worse
for this ramblin' gamblin' man.

Those cubes turned cold as ice
like the cubes clinking in his whiskey drink.
His addiction to both ,a most terrible vice.
A quicksand into which he did sink

This was his life, his love, his lot.
so he went for the last big thrill.
His last chance because he thought
you can't win when the dice lie still.

A love for haiku poetry began in college, inspired by its simplicity and depth. The book Blue Harlequin captures these moments beautifully. Read the full article to explore the essence of haiku poetry: https://aoidemagazine.com/what-is-haiku-poetry/

This is truly a great capturing of that deadly sin, gluttony... the one i think most of us commit... always wanting more... great message within your artwork.
