What He Said....

What He Said....

A Poem by Fran Marie

What he said may be what he felt
and I wish I could make the pain subside
but we all play the hand we've been dealt
and a woman can tell when men lie

What he said, the words rang untrue
a false vibration shook within my mind
a verbalization of I love you
an empty tone without rhythm nor rhyme

What he said, did not come from the heart
perhaps it was just an effort in vain
to save a failing love, doomed from the start
from a man who plays the cheating game

What he said, formed no tears to cry from my eyes
for women can tell when a man lies

I really liked this one, the whole "women's intuition" thing. lol But the fact is that we all lie at some time or another. We should just never lie involving matters of the heart, honesty is always the best policy where trust and love are concerned. But as Rudyard Kipling so aptly put it once, " Some folks just do not know what is good for them". I won't say honesty is always the best policy without exception. I would be lying if I said I believed that. I most truthfully do not. lol

This was so nice,I bet women could feel the words,if right from the heart ..or not
What he said was never as he felt, wish could make the pain go
Words rang untrue,Words of(i love you) had no rhythm nor rhyme
What he said never came from the heart, efforts in vain
to save a love doomed from start from a man who plays
What he said brought no tears women could tell when its a lie
oh this love thing,so much playing cheating and games
it should never be this way, love is a heavenly thing
lovely write..

I like this poem for several reasons. A strong message smoothly delivered yet punctuated with emotion. A favorite of those I have recently read.

This is a great poem, the rhythm was just...perfect. and, it is a poem what relates to every woman.. Yes we feel with our sixth sense... I also thought I like how I feel the atmosphere of this poem, it is semi-sad....for we know how wounded the woman protagonist was ...when he told her...what he had to say...

This poem speaks volumes, methinks. But, I'd like to focus on what's evident in this piece. The bravery to stand by a conviction is impressive as not all women react same way in actuality. If this were how women respond, nobody would get fooled by same old game. I enjoyed this.

This is so true .. even my mother can tell when i lie .. well i guess most mums can uncover the mask of lies but women in general have the power to tell if a man lies or not and I know it's painful for a woman when a man is lying to her ..
Well done...
