"Crimson Chains"

"Crimson Chains"

A Poem by Fran Marie

Memoirs of love in my diary kept

old love letters, stained in tears I have wept

tell of our torrid love affair, was it sin?

two burning souls, with flame's passion within

beneath sweet Magnolia tree's scented bouquet

wrapped in love's rapture, we spent summer's day

Nightfall kept promise, bestowing full moon

pure passionate moments ended too soon

then, dawn came with reality's harsh call

I awaken in his arms, not your's at all

Passion pays dearly, wrapped in crimson chains

our love forbidden, when others lay claim

still old love letters burn within each line

memoirs of Love, show your passion was mine

Sensual, sad... The decision one makes when passion is strong.

I love the last line "show your passion was mine". Very nicely written.

Believing that the grass is greener and then finding out your side of the fence had the flowers. Sad and beautifully penned.

An intense grieving for what should not be. Well written. I feel the angst. Nicely done.
