A trance that's what it was alright I remember it well, it was November. that night you asked me to your cabin in the mountain.
you hypnotized me with sweet soft words, then your undivided attention and kisses as we lie entwined in a lover's embrace, on the bear skin rug
yes,by a glowing amber fireplace all snugly warm as the night winds howled outside the window, and snow silently drifted thru~ the chilled night air.
I was mesmerized as you reached for me so completely and melted under your touch so soothing,I held the moment as you turned it into a blissful night of love
best of all you wanted me there to stay but I had to go at dawn~ and so I did driving home in a trance but darlin' I'll be back!
It is indeed hard not to read this as if in a trance, the flow and the feel of the words pulling us along on this romantic tale. There remains a casual feel to the polished form presented, that does not let it slip off beyond our reach but rather keeps us within that tempting embrace of a daydream that forms with each new line.
This poem is hauntingly beautiful with imagery that conjures the perfect romantic evening. Lying by the fireplace on the bear skin rug - your imagery is incredibly tangible and warm and it leaves me feeling as though I, myself, am in a trance. Your words flow wonderfully and carry the reader on a romantic rendevous I feel as though I have experienced myself. Wonderful, graceful, warm piece. Thank you for sharing this exquisite work.
Beautifully written. I am not a fan of love poems. But, this was almost cinematic. Your words made it so visual, and of course men are more visual. Perhaps that's why I liked it so much. Rain..
