A Poem by Fran Marie

Beyond~creepy weeping willows
swaying in the darken-damp night
mere hosts and goblins casting shadows
and mangled face monsters of fright

.

Beyond~werewolves that kill at full moon
and a quick silver bullet's remedy
dancing gypsies fortelling futures
upon your palm,beware and soon
of bad omens meant to be.

Beyond~flying vampires
who bite and drink your blood
and from bony graveyards
zombies, coming to get you
all gory and covered with crud.

Beyond~the loud rattle of skeleton bones
Just swinging and hanging around
the shuddering,haunting image of it's
disembodied head, now a spooky skull
rolling on the ground
that will not let you rest nor leave you alone.

Beyond~all that's wicked,evil and cursed
I know of something much worse
all black and dripping in crimson gore blood
may appear at the midnight hour

This thing comes not out of love
His face all sunken, sallow and sour
He's ugly and coarse and has no remorse

Who you say could this be?

 'Tis the Grim Reaper'
 Of Course.

 Have a Happy Haunting Halloween!

Heh. Not bad. Not too dark, but, thank God, not too "funzy" either. The piece seemed to take a more solid hold after about2 stanzas and really began to keep me interested. By the way, its spelled "skull." Lolz. Typos are fun. Not too bad. A decent combination of light and darkness.
