There was a time..

There was a time when moonlight spoke of love

    and passionate kisses made your heart beat glad

                when silvery stars shimmered above

                     and the dance of wild desire drove you mad

 

 

There was a time when things you said

      offered the gift of eternity spent

              when misty halos embraced love's bed

                           as lovers shared what was meant

 

 

There was a time we walked in sunlit clover

       and sat 'neath shaded sycamore trees

            'Alas such precious time is over

                   now I cannot taste your lips nor feel love's breeze
