Moon Lovers

Moon Lovers

A Poem by Fran Marie
"

A 10/40 for the Ten Word contest using forty words exactly

"

The sweet scent of Honeysuckle perfume

    permeated the moist night air

       lending a bit of magic

         and splendid presence of oblivion

Purer than glass, a crystal moon glowed

amid midnight's  sky~as its serene ambience

         calmed two lover's merciful souls

This is a wondrous piece, in how within such tight confines you manage to capture so much. Each piece of sensory stimulus offered by your imagery adds well to the work, creating that overall effect of perhaps being off in the bushes watching this couple if not being one of the two lovers themselves. It is no secret that I prefer the night, and I am enamored by those pieces that deal with love in the night - this truly is as magical a poem as the subject is itself... :)

Purer than glass, a crystal moon glowed...
times i looked at a full moon, times it brought fear, but other times,i could see greatness
i could see all that light, all that glow
and i marveled how strong its there
like some great shiny ball in all darkness
like saying ,i can break you
when its not there i miss it a lot
then i know it could never bring fear
no i could only see calm great glow
i loved this writing ,it brought so many thoughts
