Whirlwind

Whirlwind

A Poem by Fran Marie
"

Rondelet form

"

    No strength have I

                  to escape your  alluring trance

    No strength have I

nor do I even care to try

          fleeing from this whirlwind romance

Willingly my heart takes love's chance

   No strength have I

Ah, to be brave enough to give it a try. The narrator in the poem may not have any strength to escape an alluring trance but this narrator doesn't seem to care either. After all, nothing ventured, nothing gained but be ready for heartbreak if it arrives. On the other hand, gaining love may be worth the risk. If it doesn't work, I understand that dark chocolate helps.

You are welcome!
The voice appears willingly helpless. It's such a short piece but the story it tells goes beyond the few lines in the poem. It speaks of the strength of love as well as its dangers, and most especially its uncanny ability to reduce one into helplessness. Wonderful poem.

Keep Writing. ^___^
