^A Halloween Tale^

^A Halloween Tale^

A Poem by Fran Marie
"

for children of all ages

"

Now all ye children, gather 'round
as I tell a tale of Halloween town
with ghost and goblins flying about
and monsters will get ya! if you don't watch out.

Jack 'O Lanterns wear a face of fright
as a haloed moon shines an eerie light
while black cats haunch and pounce to scare
and witches will get ya! if you're not aware.

Sounds that will make you freeze in your steps
Oh, be careful, beware, 'lest you forget
that Hallow's Eve, is slight of hand
and the spooks will get ya! if you don't understand.

Now all ye children, go out if you must
but be wary of whom you may trust
of all things untamed, heard or seen
and no one will get ya! this Halloween.

I love the rhyme and flow in this Halloween poem :) i see the fun in the giving and experiencing of the nervous fright and also some cautionary advice.. given just before they head out for the night

i Love the voice in this poem, thank you for sharing :)

Such a whimsical poem you have written, Fran Marie. I could picture, when I have kids, I would read this poem to them on all Hallow''s Eve. Job well done.

'.. and witches will get ya! if you're not aware.'

Smiling, NO! - chuckling! What a delightful and very fine piece for the time of year... it is indeed for children of all ages! (Me, big child!) You inevitably add original touches your writing, don't know the technical word for the fourth line length but it works so very well! There's such a colourful tone to your words, sights and feelings, fun and more.. great fun!
