Fame

Fame

A Poem by Fran Marie

sitting lost and forlorn
caught in the mirror of fame
Its glass cuts deeply
to the quick of her
but they say..they shout
the show must go on

go out there and kill 'em
she lets go of her quiet stance
putting on her game face
performing destiny's deceit

when all she wanted
was to be his, in the
simplicity of life
instead of this gold-gilded
yet, unguided aura of fame

The 🔥 Flame of Fame is often too hot to handle… give me a Meadow where flowers bloom and Cows jump over the Moon… gently, Pat

Really nice work Fran. Many people seek fame without realizing the cost.

Dear Fran,
How different, the things that we want and what we actually get. No gold could give her what her heart desired. I loved this story filled with pathos and the cruel ironies life throws at her and at us all. The artwork was delightful too.
