Beyond the Forest

Beyond the Forest

A Poem by Fran Marie

 Darkness blocked her light
shadows
in stale vapors caught
    so many times
courage faded away.
              more than not

            she  became love's
victim ~ loving him
          and longer than ever
storms always last
                  each heavy raindrop.
  a  sullen dull splash

deep down depths took control
        torture prevailed
as intense sorrow survives
        happiness failed

  days turned to months,
  where tears laden her eyes
    which once shone bright.
                      as azure skies

his love grown cold
        has withered her dream
she resides in vague darkness
        beyond~the forest green

How melancholic… is it maybe that his cold heart was under a spell which I allowed it to thaw? Maybe inside he screams to show you exactly as he wishes, but the words that come out fall short, right in front of your feet and as he steps close those words are now under his shoe like annoying pebbles one forgets? Is it truly too late to bring a shadow back to light?

Just a little inspired here, I like what you have here ;)

Thank you kindly
A poem full of poetic melancholy. There are few (if any) things worse than a love that has grown cold, especially if we still love that person who, seemingly, no longer loves us. Penned with convincing expression, Fran!

I so appreciate
When love killed us. Never kind dear Fran.
"she became love's

a sullen dull splash"
The above lines. So true. We can fall deep into the storm till one day. We decide to escape our sadness. Thank you for sharing the amazing poetry.

Was my pleasure dear Fran and you are welcome.
This is great. I love it. It is very gothic. It works well for Fall/Halloween.

This has such a cool forest feel to it; a wood of revelations to show visions and harbor sorrows of failed dreams. Great read.

Thank you dear friend
for the lovely review
on my poetry😊
"We're not out of the woods yet," is the saying that came to mind when reading this, as the moral of the poem. Idk. But I liked the poem a lot. The flow of the rhymes had a beat of its own that my eyes rode to the end. tyfs

Thank you unspoken... so much
appreciated😊
I have been in this forest way too many times...
months turn to years.
this allegory matches Bobby Frost...
I also like the layout which makes this even more visual.
