wishing you well in this new year
I think January gets a bad wrap. It follows the end of all the holidays, starts a brand new year, and has the reputation of being one of the coldest months of winter. There's at least two more months to weather, Fran. Stay warm my friend, and think spring!

I feel your emotion in this poem and I have it as well.... your words are beautiful, really expressing the color of January....blue as is many of our souls....frigid earth and bare trees makes us yearn for spring to arrive...and quickly.....we can't even get enough blankets to warm our core....I love the phrase " the icy moon's haze".....
Nice write Fran!
Best, B
Since my favorite color is blue, the blues mean something a little different to me.
Blue is a magical color. This writing is a little magical too, though, as icing and chilling as it is,
well done.
I almost count down the days in January and, yet, if you look very closely, you can just see the first, delicate, signs of Spring, by the end of month.
dearest Fran… my feelings exactly… you feel the Chill more each year. The Sun May bring Warmth at Noon; however the frozen Snow is shoveled with a Path with Ice Melt so as not to slip and fall. The Promise of Spring is in our 💜 Heart when the Earth will awaken with the 🎶 Song of a Meadow Lark. tenderly, Pat

Thanks dear Pat I so appreciate
your lovely reviews on my poetry😊
Oh I do so hate January, the big let down after Christmas with nothing planned in to remove the winter blues.
Have just written my own wee poem after reading this lovely piece.
Hope you are well Fran Marie
