The Forever FlowerA Poem by Fran Mariechildren's poetryRuby Hummer fluttering his beauty wings amid the scented fragrance of flowers took sips of nectar and water He thought it quite bland so he flew one summer day into a magical sunlit garden unbeknownst to him; belonging to the Prince of flowers. Whereupon he hovered over a most unusual red flower, taking more than his fair share; sipping and slurping the best tasting nectarof all gardens he had been to in his life That night he morphed into a woodland fairy and awoke to find himself quite the flamboyant fairy with the same ruby redness with other shades of neon shimmer added to his frame. Morphing into a woodland fairy he thought was not so bad He then visited mellow meadows and forest carpet lands of lush green foliage, flying with new fairy wings much stronger than that of a bird Quite quickly he became friends with trees and others fairyland fae; such a happy sprite humming his tune At nightfall he rested upon birch branches and ferns along side of an aqua blue pond being a fanciful fae he sprinkled stardust and scarlet moonbeams, saving enough for another day Realizing the forever flower he sipped the magical nectar from was true and his metamorphosis was final; he would never change back to the Ruby Throated Hummingbird he was at one time and that was okay.
