Ode/poem to Rudolph Valentino

Desert sands breathe desire

 you~my aqua oasis

 cool, smooth~soothing 

 a midnight mirage 

      I'm slow surrender 

 to your seductive charm

        dusty night winds

 become a nurturing breeze

 feeding pleasing whispers of love

 singing sweet 

    desert dreams 

 when I seep deep into your skin

            slipping slyly

     into your midnight oasis

 drenched in splendour 

of arabian nights

        one of a thousand

my  select crush~movie magic

 you the sheik 

      stoking eternal flames

 beneath a sleek silver screen moon

A sweet little ode to a silent film star of yesterday. Nothing reflects how fleeting time truly is than the films we watch. They are captured moments of our own history that is there to remind us nothing last forever. The images may capture the illusion of eternity but when we are stirred back to reality and see the people in them now and how much they aged we are reminded of our own mortality. Nice poem Fran.
