Ruby Radiance

Ruby Radiance

A Poem by Fran Marie

scarlet flames
   psyche her imagination
drowning in bloodied waters
   of crimson thought

 she cannot forget

the same waters of doubt
    that claimed her faded
self-esteem in shades
    of claret wine tones

she remembers
     how it used to be
In rosy hues of ruby radiance
    in shades of confidence
a crown in her auburn hair

ah~ but destiny plays a cruel game
unlike her kind cherry~tipped hand

fate has been dealt as

tinted rich reds turned
tainted.to rusted dark dreams

Destiny play a big part in one's life. What used to be rosy is no more. The water of doubt can be harmful; and there is no turning back; destiny is cruel and your fate has "has been tainted" rich reds are now, brown hues. Well said Fran and how true this may be.
Best, B.

Red is the colour for confidence, passion and anger. A strong statement colour. It could also be linked to blood and death, but I prefer not to go there. I travelled to many places when reading these line Fran and was happy to do so. Have a good Easter.

I love red. It looks amazing on women with brown and black hair. It looks good with other colors too, but nothing sets off a dark haired woman like red. Well written piece, I enjoyed it.

I will never look at the color red the same way ever again. A very haunting poem which will no doubt paint my dreams in crimson.
