and when the snow falls, the roses will be pressed between pages of poems.

We are on the cusp of December frost, it would seem. The last 2 mornings, I've fired up the woodstove, since frost is not far off now. I wuz just visualizing which plants in my garden will probably fade quickly with this drop in temperature. Your poem reminds me how much I'll miss the flowers. The flowers are always the first to go! dear Fran... November has been chilly... however some of our flowers are still in bloom.
I do feel a bit "out of tune"; however, I touch the Bluebird chimes I placed in our Garden...
and the sound becomes the Voice of Winter with warm wishes for the Season. I place Snap Dragons by my Kitchen Window in hopes that the snow will not linger through December. Some Winters... you may discover
Roses under the Snow. Amen

December's frost perhaps representing a gloomy time , a specific age, when life gets too dull to enjoy a romantic company. I love the yearning here...

This has the sound of one in later years who reminisces about more pleasant times. Perhaps she is a widow who longs for those times to return while the years slip away. She knows what "December's Frost" represents, and that it will take her away.
