She

She

A Poem by Fran Marie
"

Ode to Joan Crawford another classic Actress

"
She's a whisper
of moonlight  shadows

honeysuckle
breeze sways
to her rhythm

slow rhyme
  her dance

feel it..

 she 's  surreal dreams in
        surround
                  sound

real poise in
         perfect pitch

feminine prowler
   pressing gently
      wielding power

delicate and demure..
    seizing all
out of her reach

she owns it

She is woman
  or you can call her

Joan Crawford

I recently saw the movie What ever happened to Baby Jane. What an incredible performance by both actresses in that movie. I know both had very difficult reputations but damn could they act. I'm hoping to check out a good Montgomery Clift movie soon or James Dean in East of Eden. I loved Dean in Giant. Liz Taylor was timeless in that movie as well.

Gee
What a life, sexually abused, a name that didn't fit, putting it about to further her career, and then such a fine actress with it

I am liking your tributes to great movie stars of yesteryear. Joan is another one well remembered for her powerful acting performances. Another quite difficult character in the flesh so to speak. She was amazing in Whatever happened to baby Jane. Enjoyed this write Fran.

Where you really peg her: "she owns it" . . . I don't know her work that well, but I think of her as someone who stood proud & tall -- stood up for herself in a dog-eat-dog world that had not yet opened up to any idea of fairness for women actors. Great poem & great idea to write about her! (((HUGS)))

Thanks Margie..yes a power player actress for sure..i appreciate your reviews;
beautiful, Fran! and the form dances with her .. well done says i! what a woman!!! great job with imaging, tastes and movement ... i really love the line "feel it" ... Joan Crawford was truly a classic .. and she did it all in black and white as your poem suggests
