Song of the Dove

Song of the Dove

A Poem by Fran Marie

Cool ripples of water..
a cast stone 's reflection

soft as a dove's song
sweet lotus flowers
drift by in shaded
auras of glazed aqua

as I gaze

'pon a silk smooth pond
 and sketch the vision.
'
tis what's only mine
                          in my art...

Exactly Fran, your vision, your art belongs only to you, as you create it; and it keeps evolving; plein air art is so unique. Take your easel to a wondrous, peaceful place and reflect upon the beauty of it. What you just so beautifully described in this piece will surely be a memento for you. Lovely images!
Best, Betty

The soft ripples in the pond is such a satisfying sound of nature , this poem leads to my happy place where I stay calm and true as time passes by and the blue of the water too. Wonderful imagery Fran !

Your description reminds me of how my mind feels, living in the wilderness. Just a still pool with ripples of wonderment (((HUGS)))

In this short poem Fran, you capture the incredible beauty of the lotus flowers on the lake. I love your description here. An artist with words you are.

I gazed upon such a pond just yesterday. The day was beautiful, the pond very still and placid, a lone duck cutting a wake slowly through the water. Altogether soothing, a nice place to write a poem.
