One Way Ticket

One Way Ticket

A Poem by Fran Marie
"

contest write describe the picture

"
Her life; a one-ticket to nowhere,
even the rain smiled as she frowned.
lost and forlorn since the day
she was born on the wrong side
of everything.

Oh how she tried; to make
it right oh how she cried when
the nightmare wouldn't end.

Her hopes and dreams shattered
as she sat in the rain waiting for
another trip to a runaway's life.

There is always a Reason for being born on the wrong side of the Tracks… you have to develop your own Self esteem. There are many obstacles along the way. You may be on a Run-away Train. An Angel may give you Wings when you Pray. My 💜 heart is touched. tenderly, Pat

...."she was born on the wrong side of everything." Great line! We all have choices. We can choose to dig ourselves out of a hole, a go-no-place life. It takes work but, it can be done. One needs the right mindset and faith. This poem is fraught with distress and hopelessness but, I think that was the point. Depressing but, nice write. Temp

There are lost souls who never feel in harmony with their surroundings. I think you caught the feeling behind the picture well.

It's quite sad when you can't get out of your own shadow; it is a one way ticket to nowhere; to feel that you're on the wrong side of the track is just pitiful, and that one has felt that way for so long; it''s a prolonged sense of dread; her only hope is to run away....in the rain and find a life somewhere; great writing Fran.

what a line, Fran! "she was born on the wrong side of everything"
some just never have a chance from the time they emerge from the womb.

Sorrowful and Appealing at the same time. You've written her beautifully, a life of defeat, and yet she's still in there, not surrendering, still trying, a portrait of Courage in its own right.
