On the Horizon

On the Horizon

A Poem by Fran Marie

extremes expose
themselves in light
dark hues
I feel a storm brewing
            and
each rainbow of life
have double meanings
within their aura of
 designated light
one of comedy the other
tragedy
              faces
with traces of fears
and sadness, of joy
and gladness with
interchangeable tears
             of
laughter and pain
loss and gain
it's written in low clouds
filled with rain
and sun's golden glow
as we live to

       face another new day
                                      or not

Each rainbow, each day we experience a new mood; of of sadness joy, one of tragedy, but the light of hope is always there for us to laugh or cry; its' interchangeable moods that we feel; light and dark hues are the essence of our lives, even if it rains the rainbow will lift our spirits; it's written in the clouds.
Beautiful Fran....

I see this as extremes in life in general, and specifically the mood of us can also be extreme; faces of tears and sadness, joy and gladness, laughter and pain belong to all of us. We are like a rainbow of different hues, changing all the time, just as sun's laughter and repose and the moon's smile and slumber. So, there are dark mood and light moods constantly changing as we change.
Beautifully written Fran.

You’re very welcome!
lives with eyes see horizons of the future, near and distant...as time moves it all...to see double rainbows and a meaning...in life and its faces of joy and fear...with rhymes that delight the moment to forsake tomorrow's awakening in the mundane discontent...a savory poem...

I love the contrasts of life & your poem feels like a celebration of how one side juxtaposes the other, a natural progression of how life goes, tugging & pushing (((HUGS)))

every coin has two sides...and every emotion has an opposite.
loss/gain, sunshine/rain.

and yes, a fine line between laughter and pain.
and laughter through the tears is much needed.

We dwell in a plane of polarities, opposites lining the hallways of our lives. No way around it unless we can somehow learn to raise our vibrations. The last three lines seem to have an ominous sound. Or am I reading something into it?
