Poem for PosterityA Poem by Fran Mariereflections of a legacy what will I leave behind will the me in them live on in posterity as a field of summer flowers tender and so kind or would winter's cold breath besiege their spirits in decay and cater to the whims of death giving in to its defeat each day in mourning; forgetting what is left what then of spring' s fair face to shine and autumn's leaves aglow will posterity dwell upon what was of me is theirs with love divine as nature changes within each show 'tis my fondest wish they choose with wise eyes to behold so true an eternal summer sun and sum the treasures they behold wherefore hence they'll be strong and bold amid themselves as one.
