The Sea and Me

The Sea and Me

A Poem by Fran Marie

I walk along the shore
 wishing to drown my woes
 each wave washing anew

episodes; they come and go
ups and downs fill my time
without much rhythm there's

no rhyme to soften the blow
when winds breathe bold
another chapter begins

and in you go: a solitaire
you already know
confined to the room..that room

of gloom,the past.. present
and more more more
alpha, beta ,gamma , delta ..on

on and on to epsilon.
you just don't care anymore
what's next is anyone's guess..

I just want to be
one with the sea
to drown the down in my soul

The vastness of the sea, highlights just how small we are in the overall picture of things . A walk along the shoreline when we are at our lowest, in my opinion is the best way to get some perspective. Let those waves metaphorically swamp you so you can be at one with the sea and then rise again to face a new day.. Many will relate to the overwhelming emotion in this write. Well done Fran Marie.

dear Fran... the Water does offer solace to the Soul...
Our River is Placid at times and needs a Rest. When the River is moving over Rocks
and currents... I can feel the energy of going around the next Bend. gently, Pat

it is tough when we get to this point of not caring, of just wanting to "drown ourselves in the down"---
but waves change, the past ebbs, the future comes in anew.
beautiful poem...I think we are all poems, ones in progress...
and sometimes like poems we write, we get out of rhythm...
but then fall back into the pattern of comfort....they rhymes return.

I liked the above lines. I am far away from the sea. I have the Great Lakes near. Thank you for sharing the amazing poetry and your thoughts.
