you should have....

you should have....

A Poem by Fran Marie

you should have told me
our love was just a game
 yet you covered me with
a sweet blanket of
rose-scented words
to keep my heart warm
the best I've heard
and now I'm in shame
              and~
who is really to blame
you could have made this
long love story short
but even your short ones
turned into those one- liner lies
leaving me with a life sentence
of loving you
                  now ~

our heavenly love has no chance
when hell has ruin the dance
where once I believed
while you deceived
                    well~

I can now play love as a game too
as I recall; after all
                  I.learned it from you

dearest Fran... I feel your emotions, and appreciate
the sadness. It is madness to suffer when another is
so ruthless. We learn our lessons... and thereby are
the Wiser. Like a Great Horned Owl... we ponder the
Moon whom is there to soothe our heartache. May the Season of Love
and perhaps the pure white and silver Snow bring Peace and Goodwill
to everyone ... and especially You... so true. Love your "style" of Poetry.

dear Fran... love can be like a Poker game... a matter of chance.... sometimes we are left with the Joker Card.
Or other times... Love can be a "life sentence" with No "get out of Jail" Card. I think Love is like a Magnet that pulls the Heart strings. Love can be a "Cliff Hangar". Hope it's OK to review twice.

A melancholy piece that ends up really hitting at the end! I feel as if it goes on the more depth and range of the emotion that’s palpable. The frustration is strong here too, every word feeling bold and being there for a reason. I love how you wrote this! Thank you for sharing!

Odds are ladies are gonna meet many a man who'll say, promise, anything just to get to play hide the sausage. I'm ashamed to say I've been there, done that.
Lots of women will relate to this if they read it.

Nothing like being jilted by a lying man…..who thinks that love is just a game….a dirty trick to play…leaving a heart broken to pieces, while you continue to play games like this…..”now I’m in shame”…. A heart-wrenching poem, with vivid images and scathing words….nice write Fran

Extremely relatable … dare we immerse ourselves in another being, without knowing the outcome ? Is taking a chance worth it? I guess it’s all subjective. But the undertones of pain and heartbreak drip from this one… and really make me feel something. Sometimes we know, sometimes we don’t, but who’s really to blame ? Loved this so much… thanks for sharing.

I agree dear Fran. Broken heart lessons make us learn to be less brave.

Thanks John..
hard lessons to learn for sure
powerful message and relatable to everyone who has suffered a broken heart. It is truly sad that bad love has consequences in ruining good hearts. Sometimes the crime doesn't fit the punishment. Thanks for sharing your work Fran.
