The Vague Muse

The Vague Muse

A Poem by Fran Marie

so forlorn and lonely she stares
from darkness into the light of day
saying a little prayer
that she might find her way

     she was a dark muse

a caustic wind blew into
her life and filled her
soul with gloom
she felt doom and oh
so sad for once she had.

       been a glad muse

the time draws nigh
as she wonders why
there 's no melodies
nor birds that sing her song

       she; the crying  muse

just vacant sounds
it's seems all wrong
empty and devoid of glee
yet she moves along
not knowing where
 she may belong
for tomorrow there's
a new day to be

      she is the vague muse

We will have many kind of muses. We need people to awake our minds and our soul. We can play muse, maybe siren? I liked the flow of thoughts leading to the strong ending dear Fran. Thank you for sharing the amazing poetry and your thoughts.

She's a muse of all moods....lost somewhere, trying to find some gladness in her life, which she once had, but a caustic wind sucked all the breath out of her.....ans she can't figure out why the birds aren't singing, so tears come to her eyes... it's just too quiet; .the one she has is hope and a new day. A lovely write Fran...

You’re very welcome Fran😊
Muses fluctuate according to emotion. This work catalogues several varieties, ending with the vague muse, which may indicate uncertainty. On the other hand, this muse still has hope, which is always a good sign.

yes there's always
hope to hold onto
thanks so very much;
It is too quiet in here right now...not a chirp, not an idea, our creative feathers ruffled.

love this one, excellent metaphor.

Hello dear Fran and you are welcome.
I am drawn to the dark muse. I adore an optimistic glad muse. Try to comfort a crying muse. But often write for the vague muse. In the end I find it difficult loving them all equally, but I do try. Thank you, Fran, for this lovely poem. I wish I could say I had a single muse but if I did she would be manic like me.
