So you monkeys want to be like mankind.
Are you out of your mischievous monkey minds?
Instead of swinging in trees up there in space.
You silly monks want to come down ,
and join our human race?
Why you'd go bananas in just one day.
Doing the things we humans do everyday.
You would have to drink coffee and find you a job.
Acquire some money, or else you would sob.
You'd have to wear clothes and even wear shoes.
Go to work everyday and obey all the rules.
You couldn't do all the things that you monkeys do,
Cause you would be human, you wouldn't be you.
You couldn't act like a monkey
(though some humans do)
You'd have to learn to read and write,
by going to school
and stand up straight,
there would be no monkey walk
and you couldn't sass teacher either
with your monkey talk.
So take my advice and stay up in air-space.
Cause you couldn't be free among our human race.
And swinging from trees?
Well, how bad can that be?
You could be lazy and crazy and also be free!
Aha - the vapors of whimsy have induced the Monkey Mind in you, my friend! Well - this is enjoyable, and I think that we all need an occasional venture into lighter moments.
Besides - there are so many simian similitudes, including the fact that many of us tend, when stressed out, to climb trees and fling poop at those below.
Oh - other people * don't * do that? Well, then - never mind....

!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Loved it made me laugh
I'm going to get up in a tree *right now*
and give it a go
De-evolution is the way ;-)
This was a lot of fun. I read it to my granddaughter who calls her uncle (my son) a monkey. We had fun with him present for the occasion. Thanks for the good write.
This a an easy r4ead that lends itself to the read. I found it very enjopyable. My little Granddaugter thought it was wonderful and she is only 2. I love the flow and the images. You've done a great job with this.
