Beau Geste

Beau Geste

A Poem by Fran Marie

 Flowers; though
Roses they
may be
 candy. so sweet
coated with love
words so sugary
all the little stuff
you do for me

a Valentine heart
another part of you;
showing your affection
with confection make
your connection so true

the symbols of
your love is felt
in my heart in
everyway
I just want tell you
it's not just on
Valentine's s day

there's never a special
time to say our
"I  love yous"
it can be anytime
anywhere you choose

and if all the roses
in this world
keep speaking love
the way you do
I'm saying now and
everyday in every way
I'll  show
my love for you

This is the most believable, authentic spiel of romantic sentiments, as if it's a rosy snowball rolling downhill & gathering momentum, as if the narrator becomes more & more enthusiastic about convincing the reader how awesome this is/has been/will be. A poem like this could almost make an old cynic like me believe in romance *wink! wink!* Fondly, Margie

A Sweetheart poem with sugar roses...
juxtaposing with tangles of romance
where love is always expressed with
candied kisses and quiet interludes of
soft Jazz. tenderly, Pat

It did turn out to be a love poem after all. I was wondering all through it when Gary Cooper was going to turn up.
