Here in California where winter afternoons are often up to 70*, the trees don't lose their leaves until well into Jan or Feb, while at the same time sprouting new buds, soon-to-be leaves. Love how you use the symbol of "last dead leaf" to suggest that hopefully the chuff will soon puff off! Here's to a bright new year enjoying more of your writing! (((HUGS))) Fondly, Margie

I am glad 2020 is gone. I pray 2021 is better. Here in Michigan. Lose the leaves in October. We know Winter is here. Very nice use of words dear Fran.
