Lonely Sunsets

Lonely Sunsets

A Poem by Fran Marie

Love

only
 seems to be
   just tears and pain,
        and hours waiting alone
                                in the rain

Hopes denied,
  Sad sunsets and swallowed pride

Days are warm, but I'm so cold,
and all I have are memorires to hold

As lonely deep red sunsets chaperone
the sleepless nights I cry alone

First this is excellent, expression of the wanting of love or the missing of love. Great write and I love the red ink as well. Still... sometimes those memories keep us from finding new love, sometimes it is next to us or in front but we are busy looking at something else. I have felt this alot in my life, loving, wanting and desiring a person who is too busy loving, wanting and desiring someone else. and I have done the same to be honest. I believe in love and feel we can all have it, or refind it. Excellent write again, I love this one~

"As lonely deep red sunsets chaperone
the sleepless nights I cry alone"......OUTSTANDING! You expressed the pain and hopeless fellings of loneliness very well, your flow is perfect, so the whole poem is great!

I like this simple poem. It shows sincerity and unfortunately a pretty common face of love.
Nice piece.

I am convinced that this is indeed what love is.
I have been through it and I can relate to all of it...the waiting period, the swallowed pride, the denied hopes and now all I'm left with are the lonely sunsets and the sleepless nights.

What an accurate description of love this has turned out to be.
I'm sure this will rekindle memories in all of us...

Fine write.

Ah, yes, why is that? I've asked myself many times over the years!
I liked this stanza and you had some mighty pretty ones in this poem.

Well done and thanks again for contributing your beautiful poems to my
"Loneliness" contest and of course for "Keeping the Dream Alive!!~

The very prospect of love fills the heart with need and want. To be loved and to love is a great feeling. Especially at it's strongest. When it is not there is something that's hard to deal with. Something I'm very acquainted with. Great piece, wonderful use of words!
