Evil^He Comes~Sonnet

Evil^He Comes~Sonnet

A Poem by Fran Marie

vampire.jpg Vampire Eyes image by Lestat_63

He had weary eyes of a thin disguise

but profound evil lurked behind their mask

Driven by a cold dark force I surmise

damned to perform bold ghastly sins of death

Evil, he comes on wings of midnight mist

like the hounds of hell he roams the dark earth

Rising from coffin to give you death's kiss

savoring your blood, 'tis his vampire's curse

Oh, that you could flee this evil which comes

and unbound the chains to free your doomed soul

Loring night's evil into morn's bright sun

and perish to phantom dust evermore

'Alas, such evils with a thin disguise

possess much power behind weary eyes

"Oh, that you could flee this evil which comes

and unbound the chains to free your doomed soul

Loring night's evil into morn's bright sun

and perish to phantom dust evermore"

This stanza was almost Byronic. I love the bleakly dark overtones in this piece. It's hard to find good old fashioned poetry indulging in the wine of darkness and vampire tales. Nicely penned. Described the old count perfectly.

You work is really horrible. It made my body full of spines. You penned it really well.
Congratulations!

In my mind, I could hear Boris Karloff reading this!

You show how real the bridge between respect and fear is.

OH MY! I am not a dark person (I don't think) but I just loved this... where did you get that picture? Oh god, not someone you know personally...(see Kristina grimace). My next thought is ..."Why, that looks like someone I'd marry." You'd get that if you knew more about me... anyway Fran, I read this to myself, and then outloud and it is Fab. Thanks so much.... Kristina
