Mask

Face
facade
supposing
appearances
pretending what's not
false image,trustless wings
take you nowhere,just deceit
controls soul,with fake desires
but there will be time to seek honor
achieving truth,by losing your game face

Perfect Fran! If you ever have a moment, I wrote a similar piece-but it is a story: "Taking Off the Mask of Pretense." I wrote two, but # 1 is the one I recently edited. I totally relate to this. Been there, done that, and definitely wore the t-shirt.

I love how you started out with one word and slowly built it with longer words and then phrases. You are a very talented writer, Fran. What a joy to have you on the Cafe to learn from...Well done! Carole

''but there will be time to seek honor

so true.

There comes a time when our masks must be tested by the seething flames of trial and tribulation. Thence are our faces revealed...

a unique write from you Fran.

I love everything about this - the flow, how you formatted the words, the last lines.

It takes the somewhat over used image of a mask and reworks it. Well done, and best of luck :)
