Sunlight Escapes

Sunlight Escapes

A Poem by Fran Marie

Sunlight escaped
Thru the trees
as the light faded
Black clouds formed
an onimus sign
along with a chilling breeze
Crashing thunder
claps abound
A bad storm brewing
to touch down
as lightning
Zigged-zagged
cross darken skies
Raindrops fell down
as tears rolled from my eyes
Riding on his Harley
up the driveway
He almost made it home
when a falling tree hit him
in an instant my true love was gone.
Yes,since the light faded
on that fateful day
I sit in the dark alone
thinking how my Love,
the sunshine of my life escape me
the light I lost to a storm.

Wow! What can I say in a short piece you were able to convey the lost and pain of a love that was very special and true. Rain and tears always suggest the true sadness one is feeling. It's sad, yet amazing piece.

Nice work Friend.
