Watching paint dry

Watching paint dry

A Poem by Fran Marie
"

"
No more hand shakes..hugs or kissing
all of this I'm truly missing..

rubber gloves and horror masks
worn like aliens completing our tasks

I've cooked .cleaned.and
painted the whole house
even made friends with
 with the resident  mouse

organized my closet wall..and that ain't all
laid new carpet down the hall

Scrubbed the kitchen floor ten times over
on all fours.
Gee Whiz..Dang it..
I can't take no more

yes . yes. on I'm on my knees
Oh God
I beg you pleazze

Day ..6..7..8..
9 ..10...I'm truly
at my wits end

please dear Lord make this all end
so I can be my sloppy self again

It's really "united we fall, divided we stand" right now, isn't it?! This pandemic has really shook the entire world, but I'm thankful that a vast majority of the people are cooperating with the medical staff by staying at home. I had never anticipated that the decade's start would take such a dark turn, but I'm happy that there are poems like these that are bringing a smile to so many faces! We need humor and hope in our lives during this time! Thank you for posting this poem! ♡

Heck of a prayer ...but didn't the gov'nor extend the date yet again? Sigh, and in my state they won't even let you buy paint, underwear, socks, toilet seats, furnace filters, movies, music, hardware to fix anything, and even garden seeds among so much else and they are already IN the store.

all any of us can do is our best ...regardless of what the state directs.
"be my sloppy self again" amen to that...
and did you name that mouse?
stir crazy, but certainly fearing this could get worse....you give us a smile here amid the tragedy that is invisibly taking over.

We are all on a path of self-discovery globally. How severely will be tested? What will be our breaking point. Reminds me of the Lord’s Prayer : “And lead us not into temptation...”
And somewhere I feel that man brought this test upon himself.
I love the mouse though...Give him some cheese for me ❤️
