He was....

He was....

A Poem by Fran Marie

He was poet
he was
he was poetry
he was poor
he was rich
he was..

he was summer spent sunlight
and winter worn
with weathered wrinkle skin
he was autumn
ample abundance
and spring smiles ..
special and sumptuous
he was ..

he was first
and last and
In between
he always was..

he was midnight bourbon
stirred with passion pouring
..a potion of which I tasted
he was cigarette smoke mixed with desire
...a torrid heat which I inhaled

he was nothing
he was everything
he was poetry

he was
.yes ..he was

and. we were. harmony
we were.
yes~we were

Few realize that Free Verse poetry is not simply talking, far beyond and deeper than prose, that it must contain metaphor, emotion, imagery, creative imagination, flow, poetic voice … intriguing, image-laden artwork, too.

But, none of that escaped you … in fact, there's so much more you've laid between the lines and "he was" refrains for one to become lost to -- merely in the innuendos of passion, romance, longing, harmonious rhythms, the floating sense of sensuality that almost intoxicates the senses ⁓ yes, you were.

Here's one that'll hang-on for awhile … wink* 'n a smile, oh-MY!
Thanks again, Fran Marie ⁓ Richard 🍃

The thing about a poem like this, written about a man, is that a part of me wants to track the fellow down and spend the night, but I've never had the inclination. I feel like I'm missing out.

Other than that, about perfect.

Thanks Christoph for hour thoughts on my poetry I s o appreciate your review;
Fran, “he” reads like a naughty, fairy-tale muse, whether imagined or real, inspiration for another good poem. This one has not only imagery, tastes, sound and aroma but a familiar texture. Yes, there’s harmony here.
