Sweet Dreams

Sonnet

 

Sweet visions come in darkness of night
where in dreams we touch again with delight
then dawn claims me in reality's light
and breaks lover's dream of embracing tight
So soft was slumber's arms wrapped 'round my mind
where we danced beneath stars and you were mine
A luscious dreamworld lost in space and time
where our hearts melded in love so sublime
 
Oh, that i could capture this dream to hold
for all time, if the Gods of love condone
entranced forever by your gentle touch
and feel the warmth of loving you so much
Alas, 'tis but in dreams such things as this
just dreams inspired by a goodnight kiss

You have the sonnet down to a science:P You seriously do these so well.

You do all your work so well:P But i really do enjoy this. I cant write sonnets to save my life, but they are one of my favourite forms of poetry, so tidy and neat and rythmic and its rare to find ones here that are so well written.

I actually let out a sigh at the end of this one... free flowing tenderness through out the entire piece. The romantic imagery was flawless.

I always fail at attempting sonnets, but you have done a nice job. So romantic and true. Some of the end rhyme seemed a little wierd/repetitive but it didn't effect the rhythm or flow at all. Really nice job. :]
