"Spring Fever"

Strolling down this country lane with you I feel alive
while crispness of February still stirs the air
in my heart spring fever has arrived
knowing you're now with me dear

Hand-in-hand, we savor hints of the coming spring
and that familiar longing tugs at my heart
I, not knowing what tomorrow will bring
cherish this day we’re not apart

The rustic beauty of this place 'tis enchantment to behold
as we kiss beneath the sycamore tree
it trips my senses and sets spring's fire to my soul
making me feel complete and free

Our lips meet, tenderly at first, but grow more urgent
spring’s promise rekindles our flames
our passions re-ignited, our desires re-emergent
as we embrace on this country lane

A taste of spring fever arouses feeling deep inside
as you make smooth moves in grand style
it piques a curiosity which I cannot deny
each charming gesture making me smile

I want to slow dance with you, holding you fast
on this lane, ‘neath this grand old tree
your eyes assure me this moment will last
if only as a sweet springtime memory

As sun sets down another day spent in bliss
and you leave at the break of dawn
I'll hold you close and kiss your sweet lips
'til a new sunrise brings you back into my arms

A piece penned so eloquently and I agree with Lydia, flawlessly done. Exquisite. This is the epitome of romance, and I love when it tells just enough to incite emotion in us, leaving the rest to our imaginations! Great job and thanks for sharing, hon. :-)

Very nice. This road reminds me of our old homestead and the old road that brought people to our drive. Very well done!

Very romantic... very sweet.... Makes me almost wish I hadn't given up on love!

Awesome write... Really well put together with a flow that blends so perfectly you forget when reading that there are two writers.... The rhyme scheme was pure genius and the poem itself was almost flawless... Excellent Job!
