Storm at Dawn

Storm at Dawn

A Poem by Fran Marie
"

Super Tanka Form

"

Grey clouds are forming ~  across the dark sky
The Thunder is calling while; ~ loud crashing noise sound echoes.
Silver zig-zagged streaks;  ~ lightning strikes with force
it  brings electrifying;~    light, then wild torrents of rain

Rushing fierce thunderstorms forth~ falling down at break of dawn.

SuperTanka

The SuperTanka is two tanka written side by side. The key being
that they can be read together, or separately, making perfect
sense either way. Normal tanka has a syllable count of
5-7-5-7-7, therefore the SuperTanka has 10-14-10-14-14 as a
syllable count per line.

This was so visually breathtaking. I love the image that this paints in my mind. It is so vivid and real feeling. See beyond the words into the heart of the inspiration that invoked this within you. It was like a feeling of experiencing the moment that it become more than a thought in your head. Really a wonderful read and piece to have lingering in my thoughts.

Great Job!!!!!

Thank you for entering your poem into my contest.

To read it felt like a nursery rhyme, almost song like of you will.

It provides a lot of powerful imagery with the use of great description and colour.

Thanks again!

A very interesting tanka poem. I've never seen a super tanka before but I love the way you've produced it here. It's full of startling imagery.

Yikes! The super-tanka. What a cool form and what an amazing example of it, Fran! I'm sure being exposed to a lot of new (to me) concepts in this cafe. I'm also won over because I love thunderstorms, especially right before daybreak. Wonderful!

I learned something new...about Tanka's and SuperTanka's! This is very interesting. Excellent writing with a difficult sylablle count project at hand. You really did a remarkable job. This brings specific images to mind. I noticed I can even read a line from the second Tanka and put it in front of the first one and it reads nicely as well! Nice precision.
