Small Wonders

Small Wonders

A Poem by Fran Marie

Even in the quiet moments of a misty morning you cannot

miss the most simple beauty of the small wonders of life

you can still hear the smallest bird sing his sweet song

the gentle raindrops tapping softly at the window pane

the simple cocoon still brings to us the beautiful butterfly

free to flutter among the palest pink rose and touch down

upon the smallest blade of green grass

and a caterpillar crawls slowly on a wet golden ground

with autumn's leaves paving the way

Ah, yes,the simple beauty of an ant busy at work makes

its own statement a worthy one to consider in the simplicity of life

Oh, to behold the simple and small wonders of this world

is such sweet joy.

And the buzzing bee still yields sweet honey.

Excellent description. The way your imagery combines with your poetic abilities is great. I enjoyed reading it a lot. The theme was such an important one... it was something which we often tend to ignore or take it for granted.
Thankyou,

Congratulations. Oh so pretty. It is true, the creatures of this world go about doing thier jobs laborously with not a complaint that we know of. It is like they are so comfortable with thier place in life. We should learn that lesson too.

This is so lovely. You have a way with words! Reading this has just painted such a vivid picture in my mind and I have forgotten any trouble I might have had. This is just so wonderful. I like it so much because it reminds us to look on the brighter side of life, to remember the beauty and joy of nature, and although it doesn't make darkness go away it brightens it with a new hope. Great write, Beautiful!
