Small Wonders

Small Wonders

A Poem by Fran Marie

Even in the quiet moments of a misty morning you cannot

miss the most simple beauty of the small wonders of life

you can still hear the smallest bird sing his sweet song

the gentle raindrops tapping softly at the window pane

the simple cocoon still brings to us the beautiful butterfly

free to flutter among the palest pink rose and touch down

upon the smallest blade of green grass

and a caterpillar crawls slowly on a wet golden ground

with autumn's leaves paving the way

Ah, yes,the simple beauty of an ant busy at work makes

its own statement a worthy one to consider in the simplicity of life

Oh, to behold the simple and small wonders of this world

is such sweet joy.

And the buzzing bee still yields sweet honey.

So much to learn from the simple things in life.

Well you certainly emphasized the simplicity of the world in this one simple poem. Although it was a whole range of simple things instead of just one. This is a truly wonderful poem. Descriptive and full of beautiful imagery. You can hear, feel, see, and experience everything in this poem from your wording and the great flow of this poem. The ending line was one of my favorites, certainly a great ending.

It could use a little more punctuation, some commas and periods here and there, to help show the rhythm a little better. Other than that, it's very nice.

I was expecting a more impressive ending, but the bee thing is nice as well I guess :).
The poem is very relaxing, and a real tribute to nature and human sensitivity.

Enjoyable write :).

I loved this poem! I think it needs a little editing though. " The simple (cocoon) still bring(s) to us the..." you have an a in cocoon and the word "bring" needs to be made plural. I also noticed the spelling of "caterpillar" And, were it mine, I would separate the last line into two lines. You use the word "sweet" twice in an almost run on sentence there that would sound so much better to my ear if it were broken at the word "And..." then continued on as a new sentence. This has such incredible beauty in it and is a worthy effort from any poet. I hope you find my thoughts helpful. Blessings of peace and love.
