Dreaming

Dreaming

A Poem by Fran Marie

I love gazing into the pond

In the early morning mists of a cool autumn morn
     and entertain the thought
that it's really your eyes I look upon

Longing to gaze deep into your eyes
             and play with thoughts you
                             secretly disquise
to delve right into your soul
             Thru~your sad baby-blue's window.

and there I might find, you really do care
                and the feeling is mutual
                and you're willing to share.

perhaps a meeting of two lips
In a deep sultry pleasuring kiss
If only I could but have one glimpse

what I would give to feel your touch.
then in return I'd give you twice as much.
sharing sweet whispering words of measure
'tis such things, which I would surely treasure

'Alas it's just my reflection in the pond I see.
a  pair of dreaming eyes  looking back at me.

Gentle romance and a bit of a bittersweet refrain in the last stanza:

"'Alas it's just my own reflection
in the pond I see.
A pair of dreaming eyes
looking back at me."

Fran, the rhythm of your poetry draws the reader in. Wonderfully written. Lydia

Thank you for a beautiful entry into the "Picture Poem This (11)" contest.

One suggested edit?
" that's it's really your eyes I look upon "

(that's) should be just (that)

Very romantic dream-like sequence of thought.
I, too, love to day-dream of such delightful images.

This was a bittersweet piece that shows the longing of another's touch. The last stanza was wonderful and summed it all up beautifully. T

I love this piece. It speaks of looking inward if not in an accidental absent minded sort of way. The recognition is there in the end.
I wrote a piece called I remember you done in the same context except it was a mirror instead of a pond.

I loved it, Fran.

Thank you.

Dave
