Mystique

Mystique

A Poem by Fran Marie

A magic shimmer
skimmed the mystic river
beneath soft moonlit skies

'Twas there I discovered
a mysterious lover
completely spellboumd by his penetrating eyes

A man mysterious and quiet
I cannot deny it
Like still waters my love ran deep

'Twas love at first sight
That magical starlit night
'Alas these mystic waters now weep

As night grew long
into to a new rising dawn
Like a phantom my new love disappeared

As if into thin air
yet his presence felt near
His mystique, exciting yet weird

That was some time ago
But the mystic river still flows
And my soul remembers it well

Perhaps someday the mystery shall unfold
of secrets untold
which the mystic forever holds
but is not yet willing to tell
