Deep Burgundy

Deep Burgundy

A Poem by Fran Marie
"

love sonnet

"

Once our Love was new, burning scarlet flames
'neath purple velvet skies, stars spoke our names

Love was life's Blood, A paradise sublime
coursing our veins~granting pleasure divine
suddenly stars faded to a Mauve hue
and a bright crescent moon slipped out of view
Passionate kisses turned into goodbye
Scarlet flames vanished, a blank canvas dried
Without your Love, days turned dull-dreary grey
My life painted void, dark destiny's play
It's strange you realized love lost was true
returning to me, we simply both knew

Now we're strong in the Love, that came so late
Stained in Deep Burgundy, well worth the wait

"Love was life's blood,", This speaks of love's depth, how vital it is to life.

"It's strange you realized love lost was true
Returning to me, we simply both knew

Now we're strong in the love, that came so late
Stained in Deep Burgundy, well worth the wait", It is fortunate that this love returned to you. I am happy for you.

... I love it... However postion of the titles freaks me out... it's centered and the text isn't...

well executed sonnet and if feels right. maybe the gentler burgundy love of later life is more reliable than fiery red love of early youth.

The colors are the key to the write and leave a great impression of what can be. I love the flow and speed because they keep my attention throughout the read. Great job.

What a beautiful, redemptive tale. Your use of colors here is truly Divine. As an artist, an intriquing line for me is how a blank canvas can dry - interesting choice of words. Thank you for sharing.
