No Paticular Subject

A Poem by Fran Marie

No Particular Subject

They're but mere thoughts upon paper
elected utensil 'tis the mighty pen
It slides across white parchment
becoming a wordmaker
combined with action from one's hand

No particular subject
A poet writes of many things
A concave line~here~ and ~there
lends a little decor zing.

You need not attain a license
nor a prestigous college degree
Poetry evolves from within, a sixth sense
what is in your soul for all to see.

So fidget and fuss, if you must
because haste makes waste,
so we are told
Nevertheless,take your pen from case
Lest it turns to rust.
and you'll rescue your words to unfold.

For a Poet has his pen
and 'Tis mightier than the sword'
and writes of dreams so beautiful
A gift to guide the world.

Well, I know that I am often unsure about what I am writing and definitely about sharing it...but this piece makes me feel braver about it, if I don't need a license or a college degree...but can just write to bring out that which is within, thanks so much for your writing Fran, and your inspiration!

I definately think a good poet isn't taught they either have the creative mind or they don't... those untaught also have no fences from being taught mechanical ways of doing things just like some of the best guitarists in the world... they are great cause they are constriceted to simlpe chords they are taught. Great look into the mind of a writer.

This is a lovely piece. The sentiment as well. I like the way you seem to write because it is in you and must be released even with no particular reason. This is well done and an enjoyable read.

You're work is inspiring. I hope that people that are afraid to commit their words to paper read this and join the fray. I feel like I should break out a stylus and parchment.

Poetry evolves from within, a sixth sense. I guess I've seen no better description than that. As a poet I love the feeling of being able to navigate through where other's can't and then being able to take others there. You pay fitting tribute to poetry. It is still important.

A beautiful write with a lovely message! Poetry evokes emotions, good or bad, in everyone...touching souls like nothing else (my opinion anyway). Great write! Good flow here....
