Love you are to me, drops of honeywine With each new kiss beneath the golden sun Your lips sweet bouquet, quench this thirst of mine Our love has entwined, for all time as one.
Valentine,we shall sing loves sweetest tune Share eternal bliss, 'neath a silver moon Of Cupid's Cup, we'll drink a toast to love Kindly condoned by the heavens above
Let's reach for the highest star in the sky These words of love, are meant for only you The sun, moon and stars, know this to be true Forever, we'll cherish love, you and I
You are to me sweet Love, my heart's delight These Words of Love I'll pledge, each day, each night.
Great mythic imagery for Valentine's Day: "drops of honeywine" in "Cupid's Cup." This is a wonderful answer to the Valentine's Day Challenge -- and you didn't even have to wrack your brain for something new! :D
This one hales back to Victorian romantic poetry for me. Love it. How did I miss it before?

Most definitely an oldie from years ago, thanks so much for reviewing and the notes..
This is a beautiful poem you have done a great job on this piece.
The emotions, and visions it effortlessly fills me with are truly a rare thing.
My writing style is different from yours, but I am glad I checked out this poem again it is truly wonderful.
the ryhme - there is a name for this format and I cannot remember what it is...but it appears you did well with it. its very 'sonnet' like - romantic - eloquent - almost 'victorian' in form and presentation. Romantic love is beautiful and so many of us simply never get past our angst and ashes to pen it.
This one made me smile and think of my husband....thank you.
its got great words, but the mixing of the ryhme scheme kinda threw me off. i guess im jsut that simple minded lol. eitherway the point is clear. and its a very nice poem at that.
