"for the heart ~she only knows how to lie
to safeguard feelings..
protection tucked inside
her safety valve ever so neatly
secrets kept within each beat" - I was really gripped by this - years ago I read that the heart has some neurons and its considered a type of brain. This poem has really fired my imangination Fran - the heart is so often portrayed as victim not a co-conspirator - its a brilliant unique take (well to me anyway).
I love the intrigue in this one.

''Colourful darkness '' is the only word that prep into my mind when i read this poem .. a creative decoration of expression that made me feel like I m readin a ''real poetry'' classy but a easy depth made this piece perfect !

Perhaps, more a monologue of darkness.
Very much appreciate the profound perception fostering this probing perspective--which could, of course, be intensive, intelligent introspection.
Excellent work, Fran Marie!

Thanks, Frankie so much for the review onmy poetry
When the heart harbors secrets and feels only loneliness, life is filled with darkness. You have created the mood here and done so very well. I like the alliteration. Lydi**
A heart has the power to immortalise, desensitise and more; its creation and life work is to turn its owner into a mighty power, an army, a clan, a fellowship - death wish. It has the might to raise its owner to the most peaceful yet active space or - grab it by its crazed mind and take it to hell then crush it. And here you have it all: the terror and darkness of a heart in torment. Its isolation is cruel to the point of nowhere near unrecognisable to its resident.. And, your writing really does take the reader/reviewer into a place almost too keenly observed, it scares breath from the lungs.. the tension on the second read was quite painful.
Thanks Emmajoy. For such s grand review...very insightful..

You created that feeling of darkness and sorrow within a woman so beautifully Fran. Their are some centers of pain within us that can never be touched by anyone. As we grow older, the loneliness changes to solitude and the dialogues within us get internalized, unwilling as we become to express our sorrows or share our pain...
A poem much appreciated and so inspiring.

The pleasure is all mine Fran. A Happy New Year to You! :)
the heart can become a chamber of darkness...one room that will ever be in denial because the house has suffered heartbreak....either deny or just shut the door and let no one in.
powerful piece, Fran Marie.
