` Sea of Lost Love`

` Sea of Lost Love`

A Poem by Fran Marie

your charm has faded

    the lure has surfaced

     to float away

to a distant shore

in an instant~ no more

than the

 depth of a heartbeat

 a soul's breath

faint waves left

washed up

   to disappear and dissolve

into a sea of lost love

the way you started this one was so perfect... it stirred up those waves that came crashing into the sea of love and then washing away, eroding the fantasy one bit at a time, fading off into the distance as you hear the other waves doing the same... very moving.. the construction of this is exquisite paired with the powerful lines and emotion that you are able to portray beautifully... one of my favorites...

You're welcome.
Such drifting sadness… you captured that cresting wave when we're "falling in love" and the undertow when it pulls away.

Boy, Fran Marie if it would have been me , I would have been swearing at her calling her all names under the sun. Yet you rise above and althought the words might seem to sway gently from side to side as if the emotional content was not to overwhelm anyone or insult anyone the message it is still conveyed loud and clear. The sea of lost love might be close to that sea where many relations that have experienced the trials and tribulations can swim.

It requires control to create this calm.

Thankyou

The longing for what might have been here. makes you wonder why we do what we do But we cannot help ourselves That for every joy there is an equal heartache and pain

They say love is forever, but sometimes love is only meant to come for just a special moment in time… love the wording and the structure adds to the impact of your verses.

You are most welcome Fran.
Amazing use of description. Artwork and word led the reader to the sad ending. Hard to find love when it had disappeared in the current of the sea never to be found again. Thank you for sharing the excellent poetry.
